Ability modifier
From Talus Wiki
An ability modifier is a number applied to a die roll when doing something related to that ability -- such as Attack Rolls, Saving Throws and Skills. The modifier is also used with some numbers that aren't die rolls. A positive modifier is called a bonus, and a negative modifier is called a penalty.
List of Abilities
The modifier is equal to +1 for every 2 ability points above 10 (or -1 for every 2 points below 10). For example, Constitution 14 provides +2 Hit Points per level.
Various attacks cause ability score loss, either ability damage or ability drain. Points lost to ability damage return at the rate of 1 point per day (or double that if the character gets complete bed rest) to each damaged ability, and the spells lesser restoration and restoration offset ability damage as well.[Ability drain, however, is permanent, though restoration can restore even those lost ability score points.
While any loss is debilitating, losing all points in an ability score can be devastating.
