History/Information

Tepok was brought to life in the early years of magic, when Mystra realised she would need subdeities to keep a tab on all magic across the world. She assigned Tepok to the Lizardfolk Alliance, which was being built by the Ancients. As it turned out, the Lizardfolk Alliance and Tepok became very closely intertwined, moreso than other deity/follower relationships (in a platonic way of course).

As the years grew dimmer for the Lizardfolk Alliance, with more and more demonic incursions attacking the Sulpheret Islands and its inhabitants, Tepok decided he had had enough of this, and sent forth an army of Celestial Lizardfolk and Kobolds, who destroyed the demons easily. His Celestial army was never used against mortals, since that would be going too far. However, for the time being, the other races like the Druchii and the Skaven were too busy dealing with the demonic incursions to bother the Lizardfolk Alliance.

That would soon change.

When the demonic incursions on the islands became less after the planar maelstrom had ended, the Druchii immediately took this opportunity to attack the Lizardfolk Alliance. Tepok had to recall his Celestial army, but he would forever harbour a hatred of the spiteful, devilishly evil elves. As his followers fled by the dozens, Tepok realized that if the Druchii conquered the Slaadi base, all of Talus would be destroyed by the Sphere of Annihilation that would be released. Thus, Tepok threw a million small meteors at the islands, completely destroying them. He did this after his followers and the rest of the Lizardfolk Alliance had all escaped, of course.

Mystra was not pleased with Tepok throwing meteors at the islands and destroying them utterly, but she was understanding, so she gave Tepok a new mission: Build a Celestial kingdom in Celestia where the followers of Tepok could go if needed. Tepok did this, and now Lizardfolk and Kobolds of good nature who die will feel safe that they will continue to help Tepok's cause as Celestial guards against the demonic invasions.

Also, Tepok founded the Order of the Paladins of Tepok, a group of Celestial defenders who are sworn to defend their deity and good causes he supports at all cost. Tlaxhuan Koboldguarder eventually became the first mortal to join these ranks, and he is still the only one. The Lizardfolk and Kobolds of the Lizardfolk Alliance all strive to do their best to keep the memory of Tepok fighting side-by-side with his followers during the demonic invasions alive.

Nowadays, Tepok enjoys helping out his followers whenever possible, but mostly reads books and writes poetry. Most of his poetry never leaves Celestia, though, as its power is enough to cause a man of evil heart to spontaneously combust upon sight of it. Mystra would not be pleased if Tepok was caught dolling out his poetry to those of evil hearts just to purify them, after all.

Someday Tepok hopes to defeat Mystra in a game of Divine Soccer. They used to play this game when they were much younger, and Tepok could never beat Mystra. If Tepok could defeat Mystra in a game of Divine Soccer, he would finally have achieved a lifelong dream. It's doubtful this will ever happen however. If it did, though, Tepok would become a much more well known deity among the upper planes.
